My intention for this blog is to write my thoughts on how I come closer to Christ each day.
Let Virtue Garnish thy thoughts unceasingly (D&C 121:4). Today in institute, we talked about this phrase, and it hit me, having virtue garnish thy thoughts does not just mean having clean thoughts morally, but to have absolutely pure thoughts. Meaning, not to dwell on anger, or envy, or jealousy, or anything ungodly. To have virtue garnish thy thoughts is to think as Christ would think, and completely let the love of Christ for me and others, over power any other thoughts of hatred, hurtfulness, envy, or even guilt of past sins. Virtuous thoughts is to think as God would think, always looking forward and always letting go of the past. This is the new awakening to virtuous thoughts that I have had today.
